Taking an Awards Experience Virtual
Re-Imagining The Spirit of Goodyear Champion in 2020
THE ASK
Goodyear needed to pivot its incentive trip for high-achieving dealers to a virtual format during the COVID-19 outbreak. They had originally planned to reward successful sellers with a multi-day experience in Antigua. Goodyear Champion trips have historically included a community service project, and they noted wanting to keep the tradition intact despite having to cancel travel plans.
The client sought help creatively engaging and recognizing awardees and their spouses from their homes, virtually. They also wanted to provide a philanthropic component to the event in line with their company values.
THE CHALLENGE
Thank top dealers and deliver an engaging, memorable virtual event in lieu of unforeseen circumstances that required their tropical vacation to be cancelled.
THE SOLUTION
Pivoting virtual is our specialty. In close partnership with Goodyear, we helped re-imagine an hour-long agenda for a Friday night event that included fun brand moments, a special activity and toast from leadership, and a surprise virtual rewards suite. In advance of the event, we delivered a special custom-crafted box to each Champion that included monographed, branded glasses and all the components for a signature Champion cocktail. During the event, we had a celebrity mixologist lead awardees in mixing their specialty drink for a virtual toast from home. The highly produced event featured time with leadership, special acknowledgements, music and a few incredible surprises at the end.
CSR
Giving back is always top of mind with Goodyear, and a virtual event is no exception. The original rewards program in Antigua had featured CSR time working with a local school to make improvements, donations of school supplies brought by the Champions themselves and donated computers to help increase the school’s technology base. Still top of mind, Goodyear was able to provide donations and bring the school into the virtual experience and saved a special moment during the program with the school principal.
